That would be awesome. I love JGL.... but I bet he's too busy with his blossoming movie career wink that's good for us though.  I'll have to check it out.  I've watched Last Man Standing with Tim Allen.  I was a big home improvement fan and this is pretty much the exact same thing accept instead of 3 boys, its 3 girls, and instead of having a home improvement show he works at an outdoor store.  Its pretty much the same concept.  IT was weird at first actually but I have to admit its catching on to me...

Thank you! I defiantly had plenty of turkey and dressing for both of us! wink

Back to the grinder Monday. Can't believe how fast time goes! This break flew by... I keep telling myself 3 more weeks until the next break!  This part of the year always goes by fast.

Anyone attempt black friday?  I have to admit I found some great deals this year.

I noticed this was playing on syfy this weekend!

#554 Re: Square Eyes » Misc Stuff » 25 Nov 11 :: 05:45

Enjoyed seeing 'THe Muppets.' Lots of cheese for sure, but definitely sweet and worth the watch if you were a fan! wink

I basically cooked my neighbor's turkey for her while she was at work.  Glad I could help but took 3 hours of my day.  I hope all her colleagues don't get food poisoning at tonight's pot luck!  At least I know how to roast a turkey now.

I forgot about the relation to Guy Fox.  Understanding a bit more why I've seen this on the news with the protests and everything!

Glad you'll have a good professor Mel!  I just saw one of my history professors at a friend's wedding.  Since I minored in history and there were maybe 3 professors in the department, I had like 80% of my classes with him!  It was good to catch up.  Stay connected with your professors.  Especially after college, they are good mentors to go to for advise and jobs even after you graduate.  At least mine were!

You haven't seen V For Vendetta, I take it?  It's a Guy Fawkes mask.  He's kind of the spiritual father of the Occupy Movement.  And it's a riff on the Obama HOPE poster from the 2008 election.

I got the Obama HOPE campaign - I'd seen the V For Vendetta masks - maybe I don't remember the movie all that well I"m not getting the connection.  hmm

Maybe its because I've been watching How I Met Your Mother all night instead of reading up and watching the news! big_smile  I kind of quit keeping up with the news when school started.  It got too stressful for me.  I do listen to NPR.

So thanksgiving break begins!  Looking forward to getting some peace and rest this week and spending some time with family!

I might sound a little shallow asking this, but what's this picture about Deb?  I understand the words just not what the actual  image is.  Who is it?

#560 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 18 Nov 11 :: 01:37

Will this week every end? 10 more work hours until break!

#562 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 15 Nov 11 :: 04:56

CappuGirl: I'd love to visit your part of the world.  I've seen the southern cross but I've never seen northern lights before. I bet it is beautiful!
4 more days until Thanksgiving break!  More excited about time off than thanksgiving! lol.

#563 Re: Square Eyes » All Things Michael Welch » 15 Nov 11 :: 04:53

Way to go Mikey!  Teejay, neat about X Files! i didn't realize he was in an episode either.

#564 Re: Chris On Screen » The Double » 13 Nov 11 :: 06:36

Looks like its listed at a theater some what close to me. I'll try and check it out during Thanksgiving break!

#565 Re: Square Eyes » New Shows 2011 » 13 Nov 11 :: 06:35

I did check out American Horror Story. Definitely great.  Excellent cast too.  Will keep watching Love connie Britton.

#566 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 12 Nov 11 :: 06:59

lol. Me too! An extra hour is nice but I miss the sun, its so dark now at 6pm!

#567 Re: Square Eyes » Netflix online .... » 12 Nov 11 :: 06:58

I fell out of the horror film boat, I use to watch a lot of tv on dvd through netflix but switched to movies.

BTW, Frozen River is excellent.  Moves slowly, but worth your time! wink

Like the idea Deb.  smile Way past november 4th but where is it playing?

#569 Re: Square Eyes » Misc Stuff » 10 Nov 11 :: 02:57

Totally agree with your review.  I've had to watch at least each episode twice because I always seem to miss something that ends up being hugely important in the episode.  It's driving me crazy!  I have no idea how the plot can get any better!

#570 Re: Square Eyes » Misc Stuff » 09 Nov 11 :: 05:38

anyone else watching vampire diaries this season?  it is a-mazing! this year!  Ian somerhalder couldn't be better!:drool:

#571 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 07 Nov 11 :: 03:47

good to hear that Deb!  I need to rack up my volunteer hours at the SPCA so I can do that.  It would be nice to have a visitor every once and a while.  I really want a small dog.  The debate between getting a dog and going back to school to get my masters is a close one! They cost about the same lol

#572 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 05 Nov 11 :: 22:35

Definitely! How fun!

Life is tough... but at least its a pretty fall day.  Going to see the movie 'Take Shelter' seems dark and interesting.

#573 Re: Square Eyes » New Shows 2011 » 05 Nov 11 :: 22:29

lol that show sounds interesting.  Recording it.

Cappugirl: I agree that between Grimm & Once Upon a Time its an overdose of Fairy Tale stuff.  I think too that Grimm is based off the supernatural episode, for sure!  I think I like Once Upon a time a bit better.

#574 Re: Square Eyes » New Shows 2011 » 05 Nov 11 :: 03:24

I actually really liked Once Upon A Time on abc.  Some of the fairy tale aspects are a bit cheesy but Jennifer Morrison is great in it and I enjoyed the present day premise more than the fairy tale premise.  I'll definitely keep watching.

I tried 'Grimm.' and I'll give it a few more episodes, but it seems to not be fitting together right.
