We all have a soft spot in our hearts for crap movies, so I decided they need their own thread.   Here's where we'll talk about and/or suggest movies that should be scary but end up making you laugh, movies with endings so abrupt and out of place that they make your jaw drop.  Movies that are just plain bad.

I watched Mega-Shark vs. Giant Octopus a couple weeks ago.  We had discussions about this movie before.  And, yes, the shark really does jump out of the ocean, tear a plane out of the sky and eat it.

Here's the next movie I want to watch, Grizzly Rage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zfjxhex9z8   I read the entire plot on Wikipedia, sounds like a fun, eye rolling watch.

Posted a new J/C fic.  Brown leaves again, this time he leaves Jason in charge and Jason gets all the perks of being the CO.  Including the private office.

Happy birthday, Carol!

Moon, I love the M&M banner lol

Oh, we bought a ton of stuff.  My car's a hatchback and the trunk and the backseat was full of our stuff.

I got back this morning from my little trip.  I spent most of the weekend shopping, since the area we went to has amazing malls.  We also went to the Amish settlements, Intercourse and Blue Ball (really) which was really interesting.  There's some Amish people closer to where I live but they're more modern and usually ride bikes instead of horses, so it was fun to see the old horse and buggy stuff.

I didn't take my camera, which I really regretted because on the way up we went up and over the mountains instead of through tunnels and it was really beautiful.  I borrowed a camera from the people were we staying with  when we went to the Amish Country, but they asked us not to use it, so I didn't take any pictures.

I apparently need to learn my days of the week.  We're leaving day after tomorrow.

Didn't really want to be in a car all day tomorrow anyway.

#82 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Road Trippin' » 22 Sep 09 :: 16:40

I don't know if anyone else in the US (or the world) knows what's gonna be happening in Pittsburgh starting tomorrow, but the G-20 Summit is going to be hosted downtown.  The airspace over Pittsburgh was closed to commuter flights, which is really eerie where I live because there's no plane noise, which is usually constant.

Anyway, the town's going to basically be in lockdown, so my mom can't get to her office and the store where I work is only having limited staffing.  So we're leaving early tomorrow morning and heading out towards Philly.  I'll be back sometime on Sunday and have my computer with me but I don't know if I'll be able to get on the internet.

#83 Re: Joan of Arcadia » fanfic query re Ryan Hunter storyline » 21 Sep 09 :: 05:06

We didn't resolve the Ryan storyline, but shortly after the cancellation me and a couple other people were in a roleplaying thing where we started to deepen Ryan's story and we actually did discuss how the story would finally come to a (very messy) close, but we never made it there because it fell apart after a few months.

The story line has a lot of Joan/Adam in it, since we kind of forced them back together and there's some Grace/Luke, but up until the very end our Luke is very out of character.

Here's the link to the first "chapter" if anyone's interested and, yes, the beginning really makes no sense at all: http://community.livejournal.com/joa_roleplay/256.html

I should also note that Joan and Grace were the only ones "played" by the same people throughout.  You'll notice the change in players.

Yeah, everyone got their happy ending.

And don't forget the house with all the weird navy nic-nacs in it.  I would love to see Aubrey living there.

#85 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 18 Sep 09 :: 19:55

At the end they said "this thing is in diapers" which was a saying of Nick's, because he's too cool to say "it's a piece of cake".

#86 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 18 Sep 09 :: 19:42

No, they same kid played Sam throughout the show, and in the first few minutes of the finale.   I thought he was older than this, but he seemed to have hit puberty between taping the ending for the second season and the finale.

#87 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 18 Sep 09 :: 06:58

Posted a new R/A fic.  They babysit Eddie and Janet's son.  And... there's a reason Hannah left Sam with a strung out hippie before she'd consider letting Ronnie watch him.

#88 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 18 Sep 09 :: 05:39

For those who want to see the 10 minute mini ep, here it is on youtube.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2iQgbGbpag

#89 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 17 Sep 09 :: 04:43

Because Ronnie and Adam are basically the same person.  Only different.

#90 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 17 Sep 09 :: 04:05

I knew Jonathan had to have a close connection to Chris big_smile

#91 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 16 Sep 09 :: 23:18

I was certain Sam was Nick's until it came out that Eddie and Hannah had a one night stand.  The way they shot the epilogue did keep people guessing about if it was Nick or Eddie.  They kept talking about Sam's dad without ever saying a name, then Hannah glanced up and said "here he comes" and Nick and Eddie both walked up.  It wasn't certain until Sam asked a question and Nick answered him.

#92 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 16 Sep 09 :: 20:59

They didn't say much about why there was the thing with Gavin then Eddie.  They spent about three minutes on Hannah and Ray's almost wedding, then they fast-forwarded seven years when everyone was all happy.

#93 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 16 Sep 09 :: 20:52

Yeah, me either.

Enough teasing you guys now.  It's Nick.  But I knew that from episode one.

#94 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 16 Sep 09 :: 20:39

No. Gross.  tongue

It's not Phil or Ikey or Rooster either.

#96 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 16 Sep 09 :: 05:17

Yep, I knew watching a little of season 2 would light a fire under my ass.  A little fire... but still.

The one I just posted isn't R/A.  It's Ronnie and Nick... talking about Aubrey.

#97 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 15 Sep 09 :: 22:40

Yeah, there's a 10 minutes series finale thing.  Seven years in the future, shows the main characters with their spouses (except Ikey).  Pizza Girl's name in also revealed.

And let's just say the 30 seconds Ronnie and Aubrey were on made me re-inspired for those two.

#98 Re: Square Eyes » October Road » 15 Sep 09 :: 22:17

*singsong* I know who Sam's father is.

And I also know how Ronnie stays sane around Aubrey.

#99 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 14 Sep 09 :: 20:55

Eye color is pretty easy to change.  I don't have the patience right now to play with graphics, but sometime this week I'll try to edit it if you want me to.

#100 Re: Square Eyes » Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies) » 14 Sep 09 :: 18:10

The trailer's on MTV.com, I think.  And it looks like they did CGI off his hair... and CGIed on some abs.
