Thursday is my 31st birthday, just throwing that out there!  big_smile

CBS is apparently charging an exorbitant amount to be aired and thinks it will be turned around quickly.  The new tv season doesn't really start until the end of september so there is still a few months to make a compromise.

#128 Re: Square Eyes » TV Discussion Thread » 03 Aug 13 :: 03:10

So sad that Time Warner no long carries CBS sad  I hope its still On Demand, I guess I can watch CBS shows on the internet sad

It depends on your age but getting a work visa can be difficult. If your studying abroad that's an easier visa to get.  Check with internships at major companies and research the steps to take to move to America.  Get in touch with the Canadian Embassy's website and see what steps it takes to move to another country.  wink Good luck!

I'm loving Shawn Hatosy on Southland.  Wondering why I'm just discovering this show now!  yikes

#132 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 17 Jul 13 :: 19:51

boo, school starts Monday!  sad Summer went by fast!  I'm looking forward to being back into routine and having a job to go to, but not the stress and unknown of this school year.  So many changes.  Practically a brand new school really.  New principal, 16 new teachers, new Senior Directors as well (they act as the Superintendent of our school district).

#133 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Road Trippin' » 16 Jul 13 :: 17:48

Beautiful Teejay!  Enjoy your time there!

Wish I had travelled more this summer, next summer I'm definitely planning more trips!

#134 Re: Square Eyes » TV Discussion Thread » 16 Jul 13 :: 17:46

I've been enjoying ABC's new show Motive.  It's actually already been on for a season in Canada and it did so well ABC brought it to America.  I like the lead actors a lot.  Its a different twist to a crime show.

#135 Re: Square Eyes » TV Discussion Thread » 03 Jul 13 :: 19:31

Teejay:  crazy. They also renewed 24 to help improve fox's raitings.  I liked one or two seasons of 24 but felt it was pretty much the same all the way through.

Deb:  Recording Under the Dome, hope its good.  Twisted looks good.

#136 Re: Square Eyes » Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation) » 02 Jul 13 :: 06:14

Have fun watching them Mel!  They are amazing.  Check out Angel too.  Dollhouse has always been one of my favorite Joss Whedon projects as well.

#137 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Road Trippin' » 24 Jun 13 :: 19:05

I'm looking forward to an unexpected trip to Santa Fe Wednesday.  It's in the upper 60s, better than the upper 90s here!

So enjoyed Much Ado About Nothing!  Shakespeare and Whedon fit like a glove together!  It was just good fun.  I loved seeing my favorite Whedon actors together, the dialogue and directing moved smoothly and made it very easy and entertaining to watch.  It took place at Whedon's home and I couldn't help but notice how beautiful his backyard and kitchen were!  The actors themselves seemed like they had a good time.  Very enjoyable, had a great time and recommend it  wink

It made me start watching Buffy again and I've forgotten how awesome Spike is!  How I love that show!

wowsers, interesting.  He managed to keep that very quiet!  I wonder why the announcement now?

Question on boarding Deb:  do you recommend a friend taking care of pets or boarding at the vet?  How do you feel about that?

Can't wait for Much Ado!  Getting great reviews!  Click here for a great review from NPR.

Listen here for a great interview with Joss Whedon with TIME.

Cappu - I agree about some being tired ideas... how many shows can be based of legends and mysteries?  Sherlock (which I love) as well as Elementary ended up being great.  But now there is Dracula, Sleepy Hallow, Hannibal.... I tried to get into Hannibal and although I think the characters are fascinating I don't think the show is for me.

Good luck to you!  No, I worked in the archives in the history department as that was my minor in college.  I had friends though that did their work study in the college library on campus.  Let me know if you have any questions, my friend started our school library last year and our new librarian is fantastic.  She got her masters at UNT and would be a good resource to ask questions too!  If you have more questions feel free to shoot me an email and I can get you connected to our primary librarian.

Happy Summer!  Hope everyone is enjoying some time off hopefully!

That is the cutest puppy! He's so little smile

Elinor got spayed the other day! sad  She was not a happy camper but is doing better.  Lots of sleeping it off!  She has to wear a cone and when I'm out she's in her crate.  I'm glad I did it during the summer so I could be with her and she wouldn't be uncomfortable with the cone on in her crate.  It takes up extra space.

Yes, University of North Texas --- I don't know about online but it's a well known program.  All those schools are good choices so is Texas State if your interested in the Brownsville area I would look there...  Good luck!  Be open minded about doing undergrad at a university, its a good experience too even if it might be inconvenient to a working life style.  You could always do a work study at a library or part time job... that's what I did!  wink
