Nice pics. I've never been to Christchurch, but I've been to Auckland quite a few times and always love it.

#228 Re: Chris On Screen » Infestation (SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BEGIN ON PAGE 15) » 27 Apr 07 :: 06:40

Hey, I'm sure Chris can make even Giant Alien Bugs seem cool. And woooooohoooooo, a lead role. It's been a long time coming.

#229 Re: Chris On Screen » Infestation (SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BEGIN ON PAGE 15) » 26 Apr 07 :: 09:06

Bugs...ewww. Aliens...cool, although I'm guessing they're of the overthetop sci fi variety. neutral

This actually sounds freaky, I don't do cocoons and all that jazz very well.

#230 Re: All About Chris » The Latest » 26 Apr 07 :: 09:01

Aww, he looks so cute, as always. I like his jeans.

#231 Re: Chris On Screen » The Invisible » 25 Apr 07 :: 06:56

Just watched the video. He looks very nice wink. If a bit all over the place.

#232 Re: All About Chris » Your Chrissues of the Day » 19 Apr 07 :: 13:11

It seems that Alpha Dog is finally being glimpsed from New Zealand. I just saw a little segment on Nightline about "Justin Timberlake's new movie". It's lucky that I saw the ad otherwise I probably wouldn't have tuned in. Basically it was David Farrar (a prominent NZ critic and commentator) talking a bit about it, he didn't have much of to say interest and so focused on negative press and manipulating interviews to create humour in mocking the movie. Anyway, that doesn't surprise me.

He didn't say when it was opening in theatres, but a little research on the net and I believe that it opens on the 30th of August. Or at least that's what flicks.co.nz says. It's ages away, but at least it's a date.

That's great news. Congratulations.

#234 Re: Square Eyes » Ghost Whisperer has been axed (supposedly) !!! » 14 Apr 07 :: 06:24

Well doesn't that just bring a smile to my face. It's been a good year for TV cancellations, first the OC, now this!

I still miss JoA, but this helps. Oh, yes, this helps.

I will know proceed to laugh at CBS and it's head idiot Les Mooves. lol

#235 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Road Trippin' » 11 Apr 07 :: 05:46

Slough

Hehe, and immediately Wernham-Hogg comes to mind. I love The Office. smile

Have fun!

#236 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Kevin and Barbie!!...and a little bit about the clowns. » 08 Apr 07 :: 03:20

Kevin and Lily were the best couple with Kevin. Lily seems like one of the most interesting people to meet, she was definately one of the most inventive characters on JoA.

#237 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Fun stuff » 08 Apr 07 :: 03:15

Haha those are awesome. Specially love the hidden settings and paperclip, don't I wish that last one was an option.

#238 Re: Chris On Screen » Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT) » 31 Mar 07 :: 01:20

It is deeply disturbing on many levels, and it has a lot of layers. It's a movie that I still think about at times, even though it's more than a week ago since I've first seen it. You might just like it, Susanna. I hope you do. And that it comes to NZ soon. (Have I mentioned I will be in Christchurch and Auckland in May?)

Yeah, I've heard you talk about the language and content here, I don't think it'll be a huge problem for me, but then of course I haven't seen it. I love movies (and books) that stay with you.

That's cool that you're coming to Auckland and Christchurch, and in May which is a very cool month for two reasons  - 1, it's my birthday, and 2, it's New Zealand Music Month, which is always awesome. Hope you enjoy it.

Susanna, you should really go see Alpha Dog if you get the chance to. It's really good. You won't regret it.

Oh don't worry, I'm planning on seeing it pretty much as soon as I get the chance.

#239 Re: Square Eyes » Roswell » 30 Mar 07 :: 10:12

Yay, more Jason Behr. He is one hot guy, that's for sure. Oh, and a good actor too wink .

#240 Re: Chris On Screen » Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT) » 30 Mar 07 :: 10:05

I downloaded those Chris clips, it was very nice to get a Chris fix. It's been awhile... I do not know when Alpha Dog is going to make it to NZ, and whether or not it'll go to cinema. I wasn't hugely worried about spoiling it since I didn't think it'd be my type of movie, but I think I might have jumped to conclusions. It might actually be better than I originally thought.

I'm probably in for a bit of a wait, but you never know, I've been surprised before. smile

#241 Re: Joan of Arcadia » JoA actor sightings » 22 Mar 07 :: 05:44

I was watching Curb Your Enthusiam last night, funny, funny show. Anyway it had Mary Steenburgen & Ted Dansen on it. Larry David went shopping with Mary & her mother, Mary was very nice, but I don't know if it's something she emphasised for her character, or she geniunely is unbelievably nice.

#242 Re: Off Topic Stuff » "... like without too much singing." ::: Our Music Thread » 22 Mar 07 :: 05:39

My music tastes aren't actually something you can describe very well. But right now I've been listening to a lot of Lily Allen, Muse, Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, The Decemberists... Uhm, I just bought Total Eclipse of the heart from iTunes, I'm such a sucker for that song, I have both Westlife & Bonnie Tyler singing it. lol

OhGnarly - I love Death Cab too.

#243 Re: Joan of Arcadia » best JoA moments » 16 Mar 07 :: 04:29

I agree with Deb's assessment of Coldplay -  they are wimpy, and if you listen to the lyrics it just gets worse.

Besides, all their songs sound the same, you can't distinguish between them.

#244 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Potential & Kinetic: Friedman, Judith, and the Show » 01 Mar 07 :: 04:45

Yeah, well I've never made it a secret that I don't like Barbara Hall, and I'd trust Jason Katims more than her anyday. With Roswell the networks were pushing it to be more action packed in season 2, and while I still love s2 & 3, not as much as I love s1.

#245 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Potential & Kinetic: Friedman, Judith, and the Show » 28 Feb 07 :: 09:57

Don't get me wrong. I wish so much that there was a third season, I miss Grace & Luke. Not to mention Adam. But there was aspects of the show I didn't like. It's one of my top five shows, but it's not my favourite, not by a long shot.

#246 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Potential & Kinetic: Friedman, Judith, and the Show » 28 Feb 07 :: 04:30

Yeah, season three could've been absolutely awesome. But then again it could have slid further and further away from what it used to be, and morphed into some weird show, ruining characters and relationships in it's path.

People complain enough about some stuff in season 2, like this conversation about missed chances. Maybe, all in all it was best to end it before it really started to suck. I don't know, I think it would have rocked, but you never know.

I guess that's a kind of positive spin on the situation, in a bleak little way. But hey, that's me for ya.

#248 Re: Chris On Screen » Our tribute to Chris in Fanboys: The Fanboys Countdown » 26 Feb 07 :: 08:53

Cute pic! Although, ever since the trailer I've been waiting impatiently for Fanboys.

#249 Re: Square Eyes » Oscars » 26 Feb 07 :: 08:37

I've been following the winners in the news seeing as I won't get this til 10pm tonight. Might catch bits of it, dunno, I am quite tired.

I wanted Ryan Gosling to win Best Actor, Ryan's great. I knew Forest was the front runner though.

#250 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Did God Set Adam Up To Fall? » 15 Feb 07 :: 05:20

While I know that there was issues behind the scenes with the direction of the show and that episode, I've always been one to just take the show as it comes and accept it because that is the only version of the show there is. If you're going to discuss the show you have to think in terms of universe within the show, without taking external or behind the scenes influences into account. That's how I always think in any case.

I think that Adam & Joan's relationship was not going smoothly, so sooner or later something was going to give. So maybe God intended for Adam & Bonnie to meet so Bonnie could get into the art class. Maybe there is some undisclosed reason as to Joan's assignment, we don't see the full effect of Joan's deeds. I'm saying that Adam & Joan were drifting apart and they would've broken up in the not to distant future. Maybe by breaking up because of Adam's infidelity they were just speeding it up and making way for them to reconcile and strengethen their relationship at a later point.
